Invitation Designs - Revisit

I thought I’d share a few of the various show invites from over the years.

Beginning with the most recent in 2026, my solo exhibition VIOLET PERIL featured a painting from the show with custom font and glasses printed with iridescent foil:

Previous to that was my 2024 solo show called SWEET PHANTOM, and this invitation also featured a custom font I was quite proud of. I matched the invitation to an online promo image I created, which was heavily inspired by those off-beat horror movies of the 70s-80s:

Again, the front the invitation featured new artwork from the show with gold foil printing (red foil wasn’t an option at the time, d’oh!). The foil added a great 3D quality to the card, incidentally:

Previous shows from 2017 and 2019 also featured artwork and foil printing, but I kept it fairly simple in those early days:

As fun sidequests, I also enjoy making invitations for friends’ events. Scope can range from net-new images and layout with custom font, to plug-and-play stock images:

Briarness Summer Camp was an art-retreat this summer, hosted by fine artist Kari-Lise Alexander and for her custom invitation I illustrated the white greenhouse in her garden against a night sky. Years ago, she also hosted a similar nighttime art event called Night At The Museum, and I created those invites using a combination of stock elements and custom illustration printed in gold foil.

I enjoy designing invitations and welcome opportunities to do more of it!
